Healing Hands Foundation is a Social Welfare Organization with a mission to make India first aid literate. We uplift the poor, downtrodden, and underprivileged, providing medical assistance and inclusive healthcare access, irrespective of caste, creed, or religion.
Healing Hands Foundation, registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 as amended by the Madras Act No. 24 of 1954, is an efficient, self-sustainable, and independent humanitarian organization. Committed to providing immediate relief and reducing vulnerability, we work in collaboration with communities, government, and non-governmental organizations. Our 12A and 80G certifications ensure transparency and accountability in our operations.
Healing Hands Foundation's mission is to relieve suffering, reduce vulnerability, and create a First Aid literate India. We achieve this through community participation, mobilizing volunteers, strengthening our organizational structure, and building partnerships with governmental and non-governmental organizations to expand our impact.
First Aid knowledge and skills are instrumental in building the resilience of individuals and communities in disaster preparedness, response, and daily life. It provides an initial response to health emergencies, offering life-saving measures until medical services become available. Healing Hands Foundation achieved a significant milestone by making Chelambra the first First Aid literate village in India.

Accident is such an occurrence that nobody can predict when, where, upon whom and what would happen. It is indeed wise to be prepared for such happenings before hand rather than to feel sorry after loss. Acquiring first aid knowledge and skills could be a valuable aspect of preparedness for such happenings, because first aid is a life saving skill. In some cases first aid skills could be the only way for saving victim/s life until medical Services is available. In order to learn First Aid knowledge and skill in a systematic way every one should join first aid training.
First Aid has become one of the major component of the Healing Hands Foundation since its inception. Healing Hands Foundation has developed different First Aid course for its volunteers who are trained for emergency response services. Healing Hands Foundation has been providing number of trainings for different organization and has gained credibility among its recipients because it focuses on learning by doing approach with proper assessment and evaluation systems to ensure their learning. Healing Hands Foundation is always more conscious to maintain the established standard of the course.
'First Aid Knowledge and skill can support the civil society to build the resilience of individuals and communities in disaster preparedness and response as well as in their daily lives. 'First aid provides an initial response to a health emergency, offering protective and life saving measures until the affected person's condition is stabilized until medical services is available.
First aid has been the important activity of the Healing Hands Foundation since its inception. Staff and volunteers continue helping individuals and communities to learn first aid and to become more resilient to the effects of injuries and common health priorities. In view of demand of First aid trainings and its importance in the civil society, Healing Hands Foundation has developed first aid training packages for all without discrimination on any ground.
This is an improved program of knowledge and skills in procedures and techniques. It has a defined outcome and is provided by qualified trainers.
To provide participants the knowledge and skills needed to render aid on site to sick or injured persons, stabilize their condition and prepare them for transport to advance medical facility.
This is formal recognition of completion of a training program to an agreed standard with a validity period of three years. One should undergo refresher training within the validity period to update knowledge and skill for renewal.
Throughout the training, participatory approach will be applied and methodologies such as group discussion, demonstration, practical exercise, brainstorming, simulation and interactive lecturing will be practiced.
Healing Hands Foundation has been following the standard first aid course curriculum approved by the WHO, AHA and Red Cross . More time has been allotted for practical sessions than theory so that participant is able to learn and demonstrate the standard skill.
The training is open for all individuals, professionals, volunteers and students. As much possible, homogenous group of participants is expected in regard to educational back ground and age group. The number of participants in the training should be not less than 16 and more than 24.
For smooth conduction of the training a main hall (24 x 16 feet) enabled with a digital projector system is required. Generally the organizer will manage the venue but it can be finalized by bilateral discussion.
First aid is an important part of everyday life– at home, work or at play. Everyone should learn first aid and be willing to administer basic care until emergency assistance arrives. Not every incident that requires first aid is a life-or-death situation but first aid can help in even minor incidents. You will get all the information you need from us – and we are confident you will remember it when you are put on the spot.
We know you won’t always have specialist first aid equipment on hand, and we will show you how to improvise in an emergency. At the end of the day this is “first aid” – you need to be able to act before the professionals get there.
Our courses are not dull or boring, they are customised to you. Our examples will be relevant to your life and activities. Our training is fully flexible – we work to your schedule. Not only do we run regular public courses, but we can come to you in an environment you and your staff/students are comfortable in.
